Capocard 25 mg Tablets contain captopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used for the treatment of cardiovascular and selected kidney conditions. Each tablet contains 25 mg of captopril and is intended for oral use. Captopril works by inhibiting the formation of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to narrow. This helps relax and widen blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and reducing the workload on the heart. Capocard is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and chronic heart failure. It may also be used in clinically stable patients following myocardial infarction and for selected patients with type 1 diabetic nephropathy with significant protein in the urine. The dose of captopril must be individualized according to the indication, blood pressure response, kidney function, and other medicines being used. Depending on the condition, doses may be given two or three times daily, with a maximum recommended daily dose of 150 mg. Capocard is a prescription medicine and should be taken exactly as directed by the physician. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes such as potassium may be required during treatment.
