Betadine Dry Powder Spray 55 g is a topical antiseptic containing povidone-iodine 10% w/w. It provides broad microbicidal activity and is rapidly effective against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi, helping reduce the risk of infection in affected skin. The dry powder spray format provides convenient, targeted application without the need to touch the affected area. This makes it useful for antiseptic care of minor wounds, cuts, abrasions, and other appropriate areas of damaged skin where topical infection protection is required. For adults, elderly people, and children over two years of age, the product may be applied directly to the affected skin once or twice daily according to the supplied instructions. Allow the sprayed area to dry, and a suitable dressing may be applied if required. Povidone-iodine should be used cautiously because iodine can be absorbed through damaged or extensively treated skin. Avoid prolonged or excessive use, particularly in people with thyroid or kidney problems. Medical advice is required during pregnancy or breastfeeding and if symptoms do not improve after several days.
