Avialis 5 mg is a prescription medicine containing tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It is used in adult men for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and for the signs and symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. For erectile dysfunction, tadalafil works following sexual stimulation by relaxing blood vessels in the penis and increasing blood flow, helping improve the ability to achieve and maintain an erection suitable for sexual activity. It does not cause an erection without sexual stimulation. Avialis 5 mg can be prescribed as a once-daily treatment, particularly for men who anticipate frequent sexual activity. The recommended daily dose is 5 mg taken at approximately the same time each day, and the dose may be adjusted by the physician according to individual tolerability. The 5 mg strength is also used once daily for benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tadalafil helps relax smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder and may help reduce urinary symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, incomplete bladder emptying, and frequent urination. Each film-coated tablet contains 5 mg tadalafil and the pack contains 28 tablets. Treatment should be used according to medical advice and should not be changed or discontinued without consulting the prescribing physician.
